The minutes of the Oct. 21, 2008 meeting were approved as
printed in the newsletter.
Guest Speakers:
Caroline Hegedus, J.D. Associate with the law firm of
Bezaire, Ledwitz & Associates. Presentation included
detailed information on Estate Planning & Living Trust and,
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).
Q & A followed. Q & A followed.
Betty Karnette, former State Senator spoke about the
financial crisis in our public school districts; some ideas on
the two-third majority to pass budget and, modification of
the current tax structure. Q & A followed.
Dennis Head, President of Local Lodge 1930 Machinist
union, City of Long Beach gave brief presentation.
State University Long Beach (CSULB) presented 10,000
qualified students not able to enroll.

Bill Donoghue, Area DirectorVIII, encouraged everyone to
support RPEA.
Treasury Report: $4,367.00 up from $3,531.00.
The 50/50 and $2.00 bill raffles were held.
