| RETIRED PUBLIC EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION CHAPTER 25 January 22, 2008 |
Retired Public Employees Association Chapter 25
General Meeting–Jan 22, 2008.
The meeting was called to order at 10:35 A. M. by President
James Spaulding at the El Dorado Park Senior Citizens
Center 2800 Studebaker Rd. Long Beach, California. The
Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by the President.
The minutes of the October 30, 2007 meeting were approved
as printed in the newsletter.
The Treasurer’s report for fiscal year, 06/07, ended with a
checking account balance of $3486.65; plus a $1500.00 CD
with $11.36 in interest for the 3 months of its existence.
To further strengthen our chapter, the president urged each
member to bring in one new member. Fifty members have
been lost due to deaths.
Swearing in of officers was conducted by Area VIII Director
Bill Donoghue. Once again President Spaulding asked for
help, a Membership chairperson is needed.
Community Services Supervisor Terri Eggers gave a very
good report on the activities at the El Dorado Senior Center.
Ernie Strobel from the E.J.S. Insurance Services, Inc gave an
in depth report on Long Term Care Insurance.
Laura Holl from the Center for Health Care Rights gave us
information on our legal rights for proper health care and she
said to phone her if we need her assistance.
The president welcomed the visiting Chapter 19 and Chapter
40 members.
Chapter 25 has its own website! The web site will consist of
chapter information only i. e. bylaws, minutes, etc. More
information forthcoming.
ATTENTION! ATTENTION! The meeting location has
changed! The next General Meeting will be Tuesday, April
29, 2008, 10:30 A. M. at the El Dorado Park Senior Center
located at 2800 Studebaker Road, Long Beach, California.
The 50/50 and $2.00 bill raffles were held.
Meeting was adjourned.
