| We Are the Greatest Generation Retired Public Employees Association of California – Chapter 25 Chapter 25 meeting will be Tuesday, January 31, at 10:30 a.m. LEISURE WORLD IN SEAL BEACH A little history of Chapter 25 and Chapter 19 Because the chapters were so geographically close, it was decided to merge Chapter 19 into Chapter 25, and to have Chapter 25 meetings inside Leisure World whenever we could. Until now we did not have a volunteer to set up such a meeting. Our Vice President Larry Virgil, who lives in Leisure World, will handle all of the logistics. He has managed to have the nicest and largest club house, and of course, we will still have a hot lunch served after the meeting. Additional Leisure World information is on pages 4. Guest Speaker Michael Bilbrey Michael Bilbrey was elected to the CalPERS Board 2011 to serve as a representative of active and retired CalPERS members. His term ends on January 15, 2014. He is a member of the CalPERS Boar of Administration Investment Committee and the Risk Management Committee. Mr. Bilbrey has been a CalPERS member for more than 21 years and is currently employed as Bookstore Operations Coordinator at Citrus Community College in Glendora, California. He serves as 1st Vice President of the California School Employees Association (CSEA), which represents more than 220,000 classified employees in California's public school and community colleges. Mr. Bilbrey is Chair of the CSEA Investment Committee and Chairs the CSEA Health and Welfare Taskforce. He is Co- Chair of Labor United for Universal Healthcare, a coalition of more than 40 unions and labor-allied organizations. He is aldo a member of the UCLA Labor Center Advisory Committee. Mr. Bilbrey earned a Bachelor or Arts Degree and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Pheonix. Jay Muhury of Jay's Hearing Aid Center will give a free test, consultation and demonstration at this meeting. |
